Afterword – Astoria Activewear Scam

Is Astoria Activewear a scam? There are ample BBB complaints that suggest an online scam. A particular BBB complaint claimed the business scammed a customer under the name, Haute Swimwear.

A BBB filing for Haute Swimwear shows the business with an “F” rating. On February 2020, BBB issued an alert for Haute Swimwear, alleging customers received “poor quality of products and incorrect sizing.” It appears the vendor changed its name to avoid the “F” BBB rating and negative customer complaints.

Astoria Activewear is an Alibaba and/or AliExpress dropshipper. The vendor upcharges consumers by 400% or more. We recommend conducting an Alibaba product comparison with all online vendors before purchase. Nine times out of 10, the vendor will be an Alibaba dropshipper.

Do not be fooled by a business registration. Many scam artists are operating under the guise of a legitimate business. These scammers are nothing more than Alibaba dropshippers. Of course, there are those who don’t even bother dropshipping. Most Alibaba and AliExpress clothes are poor-quality junk. The manufacturers are wasting precious materials that have a much better use.
