Two men have been charged following two incidents in Sydney’s southwest overnight

On December 12, 2023 just after 12.45 AM, officers with the Bankstown Police Area Command were dispatched to Bromley Avenue, Greenacre, after receiving reports of a group of people involved in a brawl. Once police reached the scene, the group dispersed. A 65-year-old man had an injury to his face after reportedly being assaulted. He was transported to Bankstown Hospital for treatment. In relation to inquiries, police visited a nearby home on Noble Avenue where a man allegedly produced a knife and threatened officers.

Police forced entry into the residence at approximately 7.45 AM. Two 22-year-old men were arrested after tasers were deployed. The men were checked by NSW Ambulance paramedics before they were transported to the Bankstown Police Station. Other occupants of the home include five men, two women, and a child. They were uninjured.

Both men have been charged with resist/hinder officer in execution of duty. The Strathfield man received additional charges of intimidate police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm and assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm. The men were refused bail. They will appear before Bankstown Local Court on Monday, November 13, 2023.
