Prince George’s County Police Department provides update in Brandywine domestic-related fatal shooting of Lewis Parker Sr by nephew

On November 20, 2023 at approximately 11:50 PM, police responded to the 15000 block of Brandywine Road for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers found a victim inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. The male victim was transported to a hospital where he later passed away. With help from Clinton Division V investigators, Homicide Unit detectives identified a suspect shortly after the shooting.

Detectives say the investigation revealed that the suspect traveled to New Jury after committing the murder. A motive for the shooting is still under investigation. According to a press release from the Prince George’s County Police Department, the victim in the fatal shooting has been identified as 62-year-old Lewis Parker Sr.

Homicide Unit detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Parker’s nephew, 29-year-old Elijah Drew of Somers Point, New Jersey. On Tuesday afternoon, the PGPD was informed that Drew had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
