Baltimore County Police Department identifies parties in domestic disturbance that ends with officer-involved shooting

According to a press release from the Baltimore County Police Department, officers responded to the 2700 block of Maple Avenue in Parkville for a domestic disturbance on November 24 around 11:30 PM. As the first officer arrived, a person in distress could be heard inside the residence. Authorities say the preliminary investigation determined that one person was fatally shot inside the residence. It also revealed that one subject had fired at officers.

Following an exchange of gunfire, the subject was fatally wounded outside the home. Police say they recovered a handgun near the suspect’s body. Three members of the Baltimore County Police Department discharged their weapons during the incident. A recent update from the Baltimore County Police Department identified the woman fatally wounded during the domestic disturbance as 48-year-old Maxine Redfern.

Authorities identified the deceased suspect as 52-year-old Arnel Redfern.
